The purpose of this survey is to provide the client with a detailed cathodic protection level status throughout a section of pipeline where fair to poor coating was detected.

Knowing where the level of cathodic protection is inadequate and where the external coating condition of the pipeline is questionable can provide the owner with valuable information as to where further inspection is required.

Standard Current On-Off Cathodic Protection Survey

This survey determines the general cathodic protection status of a pipeline at a relatively inexpensive cost. Analysis of the data is based on the assumption that coating quality is uniform between the measuring points.

The general purpose survey indicates what the cathodic protection level is at the points tested. Low potential readings at test points are an indication that additional pipeline integrity testing is necessary.
